Rumours: iPhone 18, Pro, and Pro Max
There are a lot of rumours flying around about what we can expect from the iPhone 18 series release, but here are a few of the main things we’ve been hearing about:
Split release: One of the biggest changes to the iPhone 18 rollout is Apple’s apparent split launch strategy. The iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max, which are the most expensive models, will be released before the standard iPhone 18 model.
This means those who want to upgrade immediately will have to opt for a more expensive version. Otherwise, they’ll have to wait until spring 2027.
Colours: One of the most anticipated aspects of every new iPhone release is the new colour set. Rumours are heavily leaning towards burgundy or dark cherry for one of the key colours, with others like light blue, dark grey, and silver being on the list of possibilities. There was an alleged leak on June 04 2026, that shows the phone frames with each of these colours.
Foldable iPhone: For the last few years, foldable smartphones have been one of the dominant trends in the tech world, and it seems like Apple may be finally joining the ranks with the iPhone 18 series! The design is expected to be similar to the Google Pixel Fold or Samsung Galaxy Fold, with a wider 4:3 aspect ratio and a small outer display.
Potential names for this model include the iPhone Ultra or iPhone Fold, which is expected to be released at the same time as the Pro and Pro Max.
A20 chip: For the standard iPhone 18, the A19 chip is expected to be replaced with the A20, which features 2 nanometers and is expected to provide increased battery life and improve overall efficiency.
What iPhone Users Want to See from the iPhone 18
While these are the overwhelming rumours surrounding the iPhone 18’s release, what is it that customers (and our team at LOGiiX) really want to see from the newest addition that they didn’t get from the iPhone 17?
One of the biggest problems iPhone 17 users had was the software. Despite AI integration on the rise, the iPhone 17 isn’t very intelligent, so it remains to be seen whether Apple will have a more AI-forward approach to the 18 Series.
Build quality is also a major issue for many loyal Apple customers. The company switched to a different material for the iPhone 17 series, resulting in a softer, more easily damaged model that doesn’t hold up to earlier iPhones.
Another aspect is the price point. Devices only keep getting more expensive, and it would be great if the bottom line is cheaper. Of course, with the Pro and Pro Max releasing first, those looking for a lower price point will need to wait a few months for the 18 standard.
And, of course, a new colour line-up is always a big plus for Apple customers!
