iPhone's are now USB-C! Why should you care?
Well lets start by looking at why iPhone changed the Lightning connector, a connecter it used for almost 11 years!
No this isn't a sudden change of heart from the product design team at Apple it actually stems from a directive from the European Union stipulating that all smartphone manufacturers must embrace USB-C as a standardized charging port by 2024. In principle, this move is expected to enable customers to purchase fewer charging cables, potentially leading to a reduction in environmental waste, as per regulatory authorities.
Now the real question.. Why is USB-C better for the iPhone?
Universal Compatibility
Gone are the days that you could no longer share cables with your Android device owning friends! One of the significant advantages of USB-C is its widespread adoption as an industry standard. If iPhones were to switch to USB-C, it would make it easier for users to use the same cables, chargers, and accessories for multiple devices, including Android phones, laptops, and other gadgets.
Why did the iPhone 15 break up with its charger?
Because it heard lightning never strikes twice!
